Our new pets are settling in nicely. Thankfully the cat had a week and a half to get used to his new house before we brought a puppy into it. Ravi (the cat) has been breaking in the new pup, teaching him not to mess with cats and whose turf this house really is. Kirby (the puppy) really, really wants to be friends with the cat, the kind of friends who wrestle and play-bite and roll around the kitchen together. Of course Ravi, as a five year old cat, is much too dignified and gentlemanly for any such thing.

Kirby is such a good boy, for a puppy. He stays close to us or to the house when he's outdoors. He adores attention and takes long puppy naps. His biggest downfall is his collie herding tendency of trying to nip at the kids' feet. We're working on that.
