We had to make the cracks in between boards small enough so rabbits can't get in and chickens can't get out. The chickens will have access to our compost and will help turn it over. Which they are naturally really good at. Don't worry - the chickens won't be kept IN our compost bin, but the compost bin makes up part of the wall in their fenced run.
