We were in MN for nearly a week while Matt had spring break. The weather on Sat. and Sun. was amazing - I think it got up to 54 on Sunday. The kids had a great time playing outside. We tried to capitalize on the nice weather and space to run around, knowing we still had 4 feet of snow at home.

| Clare would jump on a tramp all day if she could. |
 |
| Playing in the puddles. |
 |
| Karl was a little bored walking around until Grandma brought out this ride-on toy. |
 |
| Karl's first ice cream cone. He liked it much more than he's letting on. |
 |
| This little guy sure knows how to throw a good tantrum when things don't go his way. |
 |
| Clare was so excited when Grandma made caramel corn, even more excited when she got to snitch some before lunch. |
 |
| Karl loves books, especially if they have cars and trucks in them. |
 |
| Listening to the dishwasher running. I love how you can see his smiling reflection. |
We drove back on Thursday and it's a good thing we did. We had clear roads the whole way and beat the winter storm that was coming Thursday night. I ran out and did a quick grocery trip in the calm before the storm. I was glad I did: by morning we had a good 8 inches of heavy, wet snow on our deck and in our driveway. Most things in the area that can be cancelled are cancelled for today and I'm so glad I don't have to go anywhere!
*Sigh* Back to winter:
Yep, that's our clothesline just barely above the snow. It's a bit
depressing thinking about how MUCH snow has to melt before our yard is
clear again. But in the meantime I admit that it IS beautiful and now I
won't have to worry about Molly tracking mud in the house for at least
another week.
I would probably be more upset about all this new snow except I have several projects to complete before the nice weather hits and I won't want to be indoors. I need to finish the backing and then quilt the full size quilt I'm making for our bed, put together a baby quilt that I have almost all the blocks sewn for, make a couple more pairs of cloth baby shoes, and sew myself a new purse/bag. Maybe by the time I'm done with all of those things, the snow will be melting and it will actually feel like spring.

So glad you had a wonderful time in MN! Looks like fun. :) I love the pic of Karl listening to the dishwasher. I know what you mean about not feeling bad about the weather when you have projects to complete; I am on a mission to paint the kids' bedrooms before our snow melts. Once it's gone, who will want to be indoors??
