Making the most of winter days

Watching the goldfinches flock to Karl's window bird feeder.  He squeals when he sees birds come.

Sledding in the driveway.  Karl loves it.  He's grumpy because Mom stopped to get a picture.

Making cinnamon-craisin bread.  Clare spreads butter, cinnamon-sugar, and craisins all by herself, eating most of the craisins in the process.  She sometimes needs help putting it in the pan but usually rolls it out herself.  She's my little baker.  And oops, forgot to wear the apron (again!).
Molly: the kids' favorite entertainment.
Karl with his favorite book.

If you come over, you're likely to find Molly under a saddle blanket... or dressed in vet's bandages... or wearing a hat or tutu.

When Clare hears me in the kitchen, she comes flying in, grabs the stool, and hollers "I want to wash my hands and help!"  (And yes, this is normal attire for Clare when it's 10 degrees outside and 67 inside.)

Saturday adventure: Learning how to use Mom's old sewing machine.  Because I got a new one (yay!)

Clare made Karl a little "lovey" with decorative stitches.  She loved doing it.

Taking after his sister at that age: reading to Molly.
Crazy hair day.

Say goodbye to long hair!

The clippers make noise and Karl loves anything that makes noise.  Noise = happy boy

Matt did an awesome job using the longest guard we had on the clippers but it's still going to take me awhile to get used to seeing my little boy like this!  He looks like a little redhead here but I think it's just the light.  And he's grumpy because he knows his antibiotic is coming (for his double ear infection, poor kid).

Oh my gosh! Karl is looking like a toddler! Where did your baby go? So cute! And I am entirely impressed by Clare's sewing skills. That girl is going to be quite the seamstress if she keeps practicing. :) Bereket pointed to Clare's picture on the fridge the other day and said "I think that girl is just the cutest little girl ever!"
