Autumn Sunshine

This past week and weekend were gorgeous fall days and I'm glad to say we made the best of them.

On Saturday we took Clare and Molly for a walk in the woods, scoping out a hunting area for Matt.  Clare put up with the backpack for quite awhile before wanting to walk.

On Sunday I pushed Clare in the stroller to our nearest section of woods, about 15 minutes away.  Clare wanted to get out and walk as soon as we hit the end of the pavement.  Consequently, a walk that would normally take about 30 -35 minutes took almost 2 hours but I wasn't about to complain; it was a beautiful day and we were in no hurry.   Her hip doctor also told us that the more running and walking and jumping she can do, the better.  So I try to let her walk or run on our walks as much as I can while still trying to squeeze in some decent walking exercise for myself.

On Thursday we walked with a friend and her little boy.  A bonus day that was supposed to be windy and rainy but turned out to be warm and sunny.  And -- hooray! -- for the first time in three months Clare wore a different pair of shoes than her little blue crocs.  I told her that the ground was still damp with dew and that the crocs would make her socks wet but the tennis shoes wouldn't.  To my surprise, she actually cared about keeping her socks dry today and on went the tennis shoes.

Does anyone else have a super picky dresser?  Honestly, I don't think I have ever met a more opinionated toddler when it comes to clothes.  If it were up to her, she'd wear her "birthday princess" t-shirt and no pants all day long.  Or her "polka-dot heart pjs" from her Auntie Anna.

Gathering sticks for the puppies.

Sharing Cheerios with her buddy.
Ahhh... autumn!!!

So fun! I love your pics, esp. the family pic and the one of Clare just below it. :) My girls were never picky with clothes, but Ezra is starting to get that way. I let him wear his Cars themed slippers to the library the other day. ;)
