Monday...

The day Clare got her sliver... but it was so much fun playing on the deck in the sunshine.  It felt like a true 60 degrees on Monday, not just in the sun but the shade felt warm too.  We had to perform a little "surgery" Monday evening, with me holding Clare's wrist and feeding her a bottle and Matt working the sliver out with a needle and razor blade.  It sounds horrible, but it came out quickly with no bleeding and minimal crying.  She was mostly upset that we were holding her firmly in one position.  She never seemed to care about the sliver itself but I was worried about infection, so out it came. 

Oh, and our new railing is in place!  Matt put that in this weekend and once we stain the deck this summer, it'll look like it's always been there.
