UP Champions!!

The DB girls' XC team won first place of all UP Division 3 schools at the final meet in Escanaba on Saturday!  They were able to finish ahead of slightly bigger schools' teams such as Cedarville, Superior Central, and Baraga.  They had trained hard all season and ran terrific races on Saturday, with our first 6 runners in the top 20.  Yay! 

But...

Before the race, the girls were getting too nervous to run well and Matt was desperately trying to help them "loosen up".  Finally the girls said, "If we win first place in the UP, will you shave your head?"

And my dear husband replied, "Only if it's first place. It has to be first place."

Well, they took first.  So this afternoon, during an all-school assembly to honor the girls' team, they are going to zip off all of Matt's hair.  Argh!  I have never seen him with a shaved head and to be honest, don't particularly care to.  But, it's only hair and it will grow back.  It'll still be a shocker to see him when he gets home today though!
