Autumn into Winter

It's been awhile since I've posted anything. Life has been busy and blog posts a low priority. I find I can save a lot of time by posting once for the past three months. Here's an update:

Our first snow, sometime in October. It all melted and we had bare ground until December 3, when we awoke to a few inches in the driveway. Over this past weekend, we have gotten about 15 inches at our house, most of it falling on Saturday.

Our adorable little niece in her flower costume. She and her mom and dad were our third and last set of trick-or-treating guests. Our driveway is apparently too long to walk down! We watched droves of trick-or-treaters walk right past our place (and yes, our porch light was on)!

This fall has been discouraging as far as hunting goes. Matt and I got out a fair number of times with our bows, though cold, windy, and rainy weather in October prevented us getting out as many times as last year.

When firearm season opened, we headed to the woods only to be greeted by really warm temperatures and NO deer. I saw a total of two doe the entire firearm season, and some of those days included long sits of over six hours. Needless to say, I got tired of hunting pretty quick when you sit and sit and sit and don't see a thing. Thankfully, I did take my camera and got a little entertainment that way.

There. It feels good to be "caught up" on my posts. Look for another one come February.
