Romans 1:20 keeps running through my head: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.”
I feel most aware of God’s presence when I’m surrounded by the things He has created. When I’m out cross country skiing under the stars or at twilight when the horizon glows pink with the setting sun, I feel a part of a much larger story. These trees, which grow so tall I feel dwarfed skiing between them, were created by Him. He placed the stars in the sky, yet He knows my name.
His eternal power was evident this past weekend at Mt. Bohemia, when relentless winds shut down the main chair lift on Sunday. His beauty and goodness appear in the snow covered trees which glow brightly under the full moon. I see these things and can’t help but notice His invisible qualities in all of them.
