Change of weather

After two weeks of snow and freezing temperatures, we had a gorgeous week of 60s and 70s.  Our nephew came to visit and the kids had a great time playing in shorts and t-shirts, paddling kayaks, and running around in the woods.

And then, in less than 24 hours, we dropped 40 degrees from 72 to 32.  That was a shock to the system!
Clare helped haul the kayaks in from the pond for the winter, using the four wheeler.

This fall has been good, for the most part.  We thought Molly was really "going downhill" fast in her old age but she had an infection that cleared up with antibiotics.  Her appetite has picked up again and she's acting more like her normal 12-year-old self.

The kids miss the normal fall events that have been cancelled due to COVID-19.  They are still able to attend school (which they like despite occasional complaints.)  They miss activities that they used to do with friends that are now canceled.  They miss friends and relatives that we can't see because the cases are exploding in our area right now.  We'll all be grateful when life eventually returns to "normal".
