Snow arrived late this year. On Saturday we got a couple inches of snow along with cold temps and high winds. Waves on Lake Superior were supposed to reach 17 feet. I had planned some indoor projects like making pumpkin puree from our leftover pumpkins, not counting on the fact that it was the first snow and of course the kids would want to play outside! So we had to find their winter gear and bundle them up.

They didn't last long outside because the wind was too bitter so I spent the rest of the day turning little pumpkins into puree. A friend had given me a pumpkin-chocolate chip muffin recipe several years ago and it's my favorite. So... I'll see if I can get enough puree to make a batch a week until summer... :-)

On Friday, Dad passed us these toys from my childhood, called "Omagels". We're going to take turns passing them around through my siblings' families. Here's little monkey Nora on her jungle gym structure. You can make just about anything with these amazing "blocks".
We came home one day to find the porch door ajar. Snowflake had escaped from the porch and was happily sleeping on the top bunk, in the sunshine.
The kids love playing dress up. Here's my little tiger:
