The kids were so excited this year to carve pumpkins right from the garden. It was a last minute idea to plant pumpkins so it's pretty amazing we had any big enough to carve. That garden soil is good stuff and the rain helped a lot. We also had 10 carving pumpkins to give away to cousins and a whole lot of tiny pumpkins for bread and muffins.

A nearby town does a "Treat Street" every year where local businesses give out candy. Here are the kids, ready to go:

| This year we had a veterinarian, a firefighter and a princess. |
It's a pretty slow walk downtown as the lines get really backed up by all the kids and parents. But the kids had fun and didn't mind going home a little early when the buckets started getting heavy. Their local cousins and Grandma and Grandpa came over for an evening of pizza, play and candy-munching. It's so nice to have a house big enough to entertain family comfortably.

How cool that you were able to carve pumpkins from your garden! Is a Christmas tree farm next on the list? Just imagine... how fun would that be to have some draft horses, a sleigh, and a holiday Christmas tree farm? The kids are so cute. :)
