Upgrade

Well.  We did it.  We are officially minivan owners.

It wasn't even hard to part with my Subaru, which had been my dream car ever since the Porshe-looking version came out in '02 with the round headlights... I'm sorry to give up the moose stickers we bought out west though... (see lower right hand corner of back door: the "Moose Edition")

Reasons for the switch: Karl's car seat pushed my seat a little too close to the dash for comfort, Clare kicked the back of Matt's seat the entire way to MN (not intentionally; her feet just had nowhere else to go),  Molly is rather cramped in the back, and we had to leave Christmas gifts in MN because we just didn't have the space, even with a rocket box on the roof.  We needed more space.

Matt started researching and comparing and checking listings.  We knew we wanted a Toyota Sienna and knew we could afford one with the Subaru for a trade-in and the Dave Ramsey plan giving us the ability to pay cash for the rest.  A big thanks to Dave Ramsey (not that he reads this).

Anyway, we LOVE our new van!  I never thought I'd say that about a minivan.  It's amazing the difference the extra space makes.  Plus it's got family-friendly features like auto sliding door, a special child-viewing mirror, fold-down center console so we can get to the back when needed, a DVD player, and -- I thought this was funny -- a little fold-down clip near the passenger seat for hanging a garbage bag.  They really do think of everything.  Oh, and it drives nicely too.
