Our little tiger

A friend had generously given us two costumes that her kids had outgrown: a tiger and a panda bear.  I couldn't manage to convince Clare that the panda bear was a puppy.  Something with the rounded ears perhaps.

It turned out that she loved being a tiger.  Halloween morning she spent at least an hour in her "tiger fur",  roaring at Molly and running around the house.

We trick-or-treated with Clare's cousins this year, tramping through an inch or so of freshly fallen snow.  Matt ended up carrying Clare most of the way.  After four blocks, she decided she was done.  We then headed to Grandma and Grandpa K's to trick-or-treat there and for the adults to enjoy some pie and ice cream together.

I realized later that I never reached for my camera on our trick-or-treat route.  But imagine a tiger with a blank I'm-not-sure-what-I-think-of-this-face with rosy cheeks from the cold, swinging an orange plastic pumpkin bucket as she trooped bravely up to skeleton and ghost-bedecked houses, mumbling "trick-or-treat" and "thank-you" so quietly only we could hear her.
