We opted to just do a small birthday party at home this year, just Matt, Clare, and I. May is a difficult month to try coordinating family for a get-together since there are so many other birthdays and summer activities happening. Our small party at home worked out very well.
From this angle, Clare's cake looks humongous. I probably should have halved the recipe for the 3 of us! Clare really enjoyed her cake and ice cream: no tears this year!
