'Tis the Season
This time of year is so cozy and peaceful, with lights on the tree, snow falling outside, and cookies baking in the oven. It's easy to love this time of year for all these things rather than the true reason we celebrate Christmas. I bought a little "kid-friendly" nativity for Clare to help teach her about Jesus' birth, but it's not exactly one-and-a-half year old friendly so after we unwrapped all the little figures and set them up, I had to move it to a higher shelf. I would like to find a used Fisher Price nativity. I was looking on Amazon and it would be perfect for little hands. In the meantime she can play with her current one while supervised. :-)
Daddy's American Car ornaments are a big hit with Clare. We've driven them on the floor, put them on and off the tree countless times, built car garages for them, and rolled them down little ramps. She's very careful with them so I don't have to worry about them breaking. I really appreciate that about her.
Our attempt at a winter family picture. Clare was in need of a nap and not in a smiling mood.
Speaking of not being in a smiling mood, our little girl has been sick a lot this fall. Most recently, she got sick Thursday a.m. and this morning was the second time in three days I've had to wash all her bedding and give her a bath in the a.m. She handles it really well though, taking long naps and hardly complaining. I could take a lesson or two from her. :-)
