Playing Catch-up

My favorite season has been flying by in a whirlwind of picking, canning, and freezing broccoli, beans, kale, tomatoes and applesauce.   Our pantry is packed; if I canned any more we would have to buy more shelving.  I enjoy seeing all those jars neatly stacked on shelves, but I don't enjoy spending so much time in the kitchen when there are leaves outside begging to be crunched underfoot and that crisp, earthy fall scent to be smelling.  Ahhhh... I love fall!

I did get to spend some beautiful days out in the woods hunting.  I saw two bucks but had no success before the weather got hot and the deer stopped moving.  This past weekend we stayed home due to high winds and heavy rain, so no hunting then either. Since the weather has turned icky, I'll try to catch up on at least one blog post.

We dropped Clare off at Auntie Diane's and got out mountain biking on one of our recent gorgeous days, enjoying the colors at the Tech trails. The colors were so beautiful here this year. Friends of ours invited us to their camp near Michigamme one Saturday, so I'll include some of my favorite pics from that day.

Clare walked nearly a full quarter mile down this road, picking up leaves and twirling them around. I carried her around the mud puddles because we hadn't brought extra shoes.

We took a really cute family picture too but that might have to be our Christmas card this year so no previews here.  ;-)
