To the Fair

We took Clare to the fair expecting her to love the animals only to find she liked the tractors and bumper cars more.  My favorite toy at her age was a Tonka truck, so I shouldn't have been surprised.

Most of the animals in the petting pen were interested only in hands that held food, but this little goat loved being petted.  He hung out next to us for a long time. 

Like most outings, I get home thinking I took plenty of really neat pictures only to discover they didn't turn out that great after all.

Other fair highlights for Clare:
* riding a horse on the merry-go-round with Mommy
* riding in the front seat of a car on the merry-go-round with her own little steering wheel and seat belt while Mommy squeezed herself into the back seat to keep her safe
* watching kids ride the bumper cars
* jumping when a rooster crowed right behind her in the small animal barn
* hearing the horses neigh
* looking at the tractors with Daddy 

After the third day going to the fair, she was "faired out" so we didn't bother going back for the 4th day.  We went to the beach instead which proved to be much more fun.  It's hard to go wrong with sand and water.
